Where to start when you have had a site up 4 times in the past 20 years and the web hosting providers have either folded, shut down for email spamming or were purchased by a hosting company that would not honor a contract.
I lost my online work but had notes on my computer, which incidentally crashed several times due to HD failure, which I have tried to reconstruct several times first in html and then in WordPress. It was mostly my fault for not backing up on a different server than the one hosting my sites.
In the past I have always used the NKJV, but now all my quotes will be from the ESV unless it was salvaged in the NKJV.
So that being out of the way, I will start with the name I chose for this site and why.
Faith is the basis of my Christian belief as the Bible clearly states that we are saved by grace through faith. I added the alone because I do no believe in works which is the law. Grace is free and supplies while the law is works and demands.
Ephesians 2:8, 9 state, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” If not by works then it has to be by faith alone.
Peter says in 1 Peter 1:8,9, “Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” This faith that leads us to salvation is belief that Jesus did what the Bible says He did. Faith is trusting what we believe.
Hebrews 11:1 says it like this, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Conviction here is the same Greek word used for proof. So we now include hope which is enlightening in that those who believe and hope for salvation are assured of it.
Acts 16:5 confirms that salvation is by faith by stating, “So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and they increased in numbers daily.” The increase was by faith in the Gospel that was given to the Gentiles as revealed to Paul.
Remember that Paul wrote in Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” The Jews first because they knew about God the Father and the prophecies about the coming Messiah. It would be easier for our Lord to come as a Jew for the Jews, which is contained in the Jewish Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Then God would recruit a Pharisee as a chosen vessel for the Gentiles after the death of Christ. (Acts 9:15)
You will also remember that in Acts 10:15, 16 “And the voice came to him again a second time, ‘What God has made clean, do not call common.’ This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven.” meaning of course the Gentiles. I could go on for another 4 paragraphs about God and the number 3.
Peter continues with a great sermon (Acts 10:34 to 10:43) repeated 2 more times but here I want you to notice when the Gentiles received the Holy Spirit baptism. From when Peter said, “To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” Wow, did you get that? When Peter said believe that you receive forgiveness in the NAME of JESUS they were baptized in the Spirit in verse 44.
To demonstrate the importance of faith in salvation Jesus said in Matthew 22:14, “For many are called, but few are chosen.” and that is true but see what is added in Revelation 17:14, “They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.” That’s right, called and chosen is very important but you must also be faithful in your belief of who the Lord of lords and King of kings will be. His name is Jesus and “there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
That is why I chose the name faithalone.info so I can show that we are saved through Grace by faith alone and be as informative as possible.
“But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.” (Romans 11:6)
